Join us for a study group of Faithful and Inclusive, by Rev. Rob Fuquay, on the new BeADisciple Study App, helps us learn how United Methodists can be both obedient to God’s Word and fully welcoming to LGBTQ persons in the church. This five-session resource has been designed for participants to develop their own perspectives on the Bible’s passages related to homosexuality. There will also be an orientation meeting
This study creates a safe space to navigate through this thorny issue, relying on the biblical-interpretation approach of Methodism’s founder, John Wesley.

I hope you’re as excited about this opportunity as I am. My group will meet at noon on Tuesdays, starting August 15. The study lasts 5 weeks, plus an orientation meeting. I’ll be at the back after worship, so please come talk to me if you’re interested. My name again is Cory Johnson. I’d love to have you join me!

Sample email invitation to participants to existing Faithful and Inclusive Study Group

I’ll be leading a small group through the study Faithful and Inclusive on the new BeADisciple Study App this [fall/spring]. This is new app for Christian small-group studies that recently launched and contains everything you need to participate via computer, smart phone, or tablet.
- The Orientation meeting will take place [day, date, time].
- Day 1 of daily study will be [day, date].
- Our 75-minute weekly meeting will take place on [day] at [time] starting [day, date, time].
To join my Study Group:
- Register on the web at https://app.beadiscipleapp.com/register/ (for the best pricing) or using the mobile app (available from The App Store and Google Play) from your smart phone or tablet.
- Login to the app.
- Tap “Browse Studies” and select Faithful and Inclusive.
- Select the Participant Package.
- Tap “I Have a Study Group ID.” Enter this ID: [A###].
- Complete the purchase process. You’ll arrive at your home page in the app.
- Tap on the white card on your home page to enter our study group portal, read and dismiss each item on the message board, and get started on the Orientation Assignment.
There is some preparation for our Orientation meeting in the app–please try to complete it before we meet, particularly the Welcome video as this shows you how to join our first meeting from the app.
