GRANT OPPORTUNITY:
Acts to Action
Living Out Luke - Acts
Fifteen $1000 grants are available for those leading this small-group study with high school students.
Acts to Action: Living Out Luke – Acts is a 12-week study designed especially for high school students that covers Jesus’ teachings and ministry (in Luke) and the struggles and accomplishments of the early disciples (in Acts). Sessions are designed to be completed over the course of one week, but can be extended to fit the needs of the group. There are 5 days of study in every week, with each day containing about 20 minutes of content and reflection.
In every week, participants will go both “Into the Word,” by studying Scripture, and “Into the World,” by acting on what they have learned. During your time together, your group will also look at needs in the community and do a service project related to the need.
What does the Acts to Action study involve?
- 20 minutes of study (available in both text and audio formats) for 5 days in each week.
- Spiritual practices and a Sabbath reflection incorporated into each week.
- Group discussion threads and message boards for continued interaction throughout the week.
- Virtual or in person 60-minute group meetings at the end of each week.
- One orientation with your group before the study begins.
Acts to Action helps participants see how the first disciples of Jesus Christ lived out their faith.
Acts to Action: Living Out Luke – Acts has been adapted from the internationally renowned DISCIPLE Bible Study series, and all content for the study is contained on the state-of-the-art BeADisciple App. All the curriculum has been revised and updated from the original, and is accessible via smart phone, tablet, or computer.
About the grant:
Funded by TENx10, this $1000 grant supports a Christian adult who will lead high school students through the Acts to Action: Living Out Luke – Acts 12-week small-group study. The group will study the life of Jesus as described in the book of Luke, explore early disciple activities in the book of Acts, reflect on their journey, and complete a service project in their community.
This study content and discussion is on the BeADisciple Study App, which is free to download and is available on mobile devices, tablets, and internet browser.
Meetings at the end of each week are required; you may choose to hold the meetings in person or on the Zoom link provided in the study. The study is designed to have each session covered over the period of one week, but you may adjust the speed of study depending on your group’s needs.
The grant covers the group leader’s cost only, but some scholarship funds for student participants are available and grant funds may be used to cover a portion of student costs.
